Organic Adzuki Beans

Alkanet Root, Wildharvested
Alkanet Root, Anchusa officinalis, is usually used to produce a natural blue or purple color in the soap. It was once used in Western Europe as rouge and is also used for producing natural dyes for fabrics.
Organic Aloe Vera
Aloe vera, Aloe barbadensis, adds a wonderful, silky texture to soap leaving skin soft and smooth. In hair care, aloe makes hair more manageable, smoother, silkier, and healthier. Aloe conditions, moisturizes, and creates a smooth shine.
Regular use of Amla, Phyllanthus emblica, promotes glowing skin and its antioxidant effect may help delay wrinkles. It has also been found helpful in treating eczema. Amla, an excellent hair conditioning herb, provides nourishment that penetrates the scalp and strengthens hair at its root to promote stronger, healthier new growth and help with hair loss by normalizing blood supply.
Annatto, Bixa orellana, often used to treat burns, has been used for centuries to condition hair and skin. It contains vitamins A and D and beta-carotene. In body care products, Annatto oil acts as an emollient is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, and provides antioxidant benefits while adding a rich sunny color.
Organic Aritha (Soapnuts)
Also known as soapnuts, Aritha, Sapindus mukorrosi, is a popular ingredient in Ayurvedic shampoos and cleansers. They are used in Ayurvedic medicine to soothe eczema, psoriasis, itchy skin and sensitive skin. Soapnuts, very gentle on the skin and scalp, have natural conditioning properties that will help keep the skin moisturized. In hair care, Aritha, an excellent hair tonic, has long been known for its benefits for healthy hair and scalp.
Arnica, Arnica Montana, contains natural anti-inflammatory, analgesic compounds. Often used for bruises, sprains and muscle pain, Arnica also may help reduce pain and swelling for arthritis sufferers.
Organic Arrowroot Powder
Arrowroot Powder, Maranta arundinacea, imparts a silky texture to body creams and helps decrease the oily feeling of natural oils and butters. A great substitute for cornstarch for those with corn allergies, arrowroot powder also helps absorb perspiration.
Organic Barley Grass
A great source of oxygen containing chlorophyll, Barley Grass, Hordeum vulgare, has antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It has been used for centuries in topical applications to help in wound healing and in the treatment of skin irritations and diseases.

Organic Black Walnut Hulls
Because of its dark color, Black Walnut, Juglans nigra, hulls are a natural way to temporarily darken hair. The hulls do not add permanent color like chemically-laden commercial hair dyes. The pigments will darken or stain hair for a period of time but will wash out over time.

Burdock Root, Arctium lappa, root is believed to have anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties making it a natural treatment for acne and fungal infections like ringworm, athlete’s foot, and yeast infections. In hair care, burdock maintains and promotes a healthy scalp, encourages hair growth, improves hair strength adds body and shine.
Calendula, Calendula officinalis, is very soothing to sensitive or dry skin. It is used for burns, cuts, insect bites, rashes, wounds and irritated or inflamed skin disorders such as eczema and acne.
Organic Camu Camu Berry
The small reddish purple fruit of the Camu Camu Berry, Myrciaria dubia, contains more vitamin C than any other known botanical source--30 times more vitamin C than oranges! Rich in antioxidants, amino acids, beta-carotene and potassium, the camu camu berry also contains one of the highest ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) ratings of all berries.
Cayenne, Capsicum annuum, helps to temporarily relieve pain from sore muscles, arthritis and nerve pain (neuralgia).
Chamomile, Matricaria recutita, eases the itching of eczema and other rashes and reduces skin inflammation. Chamomile's mild astringent properties makes it good for deep-cleaning pores. In hair care chamomile is used to soothe the scalp, add highlights to fair hair and a sheen to dark hair as it conditions and softens.
Chickweed, Stellaria media, brings relief from chronic itching caused by eczema, psoriasis, rashes and general skin irritation. Chickweed salve moisturizes dry or chapped skin and soothes burns, stings, and bites.
Organic Chicory Root
Chicory Root, Cichorium intybus, has been used as an herbal remedy to treat skin inflammation, soothe skin irritation and help treat sunburns, cuts, rashes and acne. It also has a good skin healing agent to prevent infection and keep down swelling and itching.
The oil in Cloves, Syzygium aromaticum, is made up of between 80 to 95 percent eugenol, a powerful natural antiseptic. Due to their antiseptic properties, cloves are often used in skincare products for acne-prone skin. In hair care, cloves are useful in bringing out the natural color of brunettes.
We love Cinnamon, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, in coffee cake and apple cider, but it is also loaded with antioxidants that help fight skin damage. Cinnamon can help decrease acne by drying excess skin oil and increasing circulation to the skin surface. Cinnamon powder can be a gentle exfoliant that helps remove dead skin cells.
Organic Comfrey Leaf
Both the root and the leaf of Comfrey, Symphytum officinale, are known to heal and soothe, are believed to regenerate cell growth after injury, and are used to heal rashes, inflammation and other skin problems. Comfrey is also great for sensitive skin. It has mild cleansing properties that make it a good product for removing dirt, oils, and impurities without irritating skin.

Comfrey, Symphytum officinale, leaves and roots contain a chemical compound called allantoin which is believed to stimulate cell growth and repair while decreasing inflammation. The root, which contributes a skin-soothing mucilage, is considered nutritive and cooling and is used to help with sprains or strains, or broken bones.
Dandelion, Taraxacum officinale, leaves, rich in vitamins A and C, help clear the skin of blemishes and even out skin tone.

The roots of Devil's Claw, Harpagophytum procumbens, which are actually tubers, have been used medicinally for centuries to help treat pain, fever, skin conditions, and even malaria. Organic Elder Flowers

Fenugreek, Trigonella foenum-graecum, provides natural proteins for the nourishment and health of hair, stimulates blood flow to the root of the hair, and was used to combat hair loss. Rich in vitamins, protein (including lecithin) and iron, fenugreek has been used as a treatment for dandruff, thinning hair, and damaged hair.
Flax Seed, Linum usitatissimum, and its oil are often added to skincare products because they help firm, tone and tighten skin and decrease excess sebum on oily skin to help with acne.
In hair care, flax seed belongs to a group of herbs called mucilage plants like marsh mallow. When mixed with hot water it provides "slip" to aid in detangling hair.

Witch Hazel, Hamamelis virginiana (distillate), is a topical astringent derived from the bark and twigs of the Hamamelis virginiana plant. Good quality witch hazel will not dry out your skin. Sadly, many commercial brands contain more alcohol than actual witch hazel.
